Sports Betting Tips

By A. Aguilar

Here we will include some tips according to the risk profile you want to take. You should know that by taking more risk you can ether make more money or lose almost everything.

Tips for wise bettor:

To be less likely to lose your money, you should choose one of two options:

  • Bet on options that give less money but that are safer. By betting that Spain will qualify for the 2010 World Cup you choose to earn only 10% of your wager, or you can bet that Madrid will be first of its group in the league Champions, opting to earn just 50% more than your bet.

  • Diversify your money. If going to bet 600 dollars on football, don't bet them all on the same team or the same direction. You can bet on various outcomes, or on several early scorers, different matches, etc. If you bet on the NBA, bet on different games on the same day; you will always make mistakes on some, but make money on others.

By betting in this way you can ether slowly accumulate money, or lose a little on one sport while earning money on another. You are probably not going to make a fortune but at least you should make money continuously.

We recommend that you specialize in a sport which you understand and not bet on just about every sport. Remember to bet few dollars for a surprise result, this can give you more money than to bet a lot of money on a safer bet; all sports are always going to have surprises.

Advice for the risky bettors:

  • Guys like this are going to get rich quick or lose a lot fast (or play just for fun; there are many like that). This type of player takes great risks, but even among them, we can distinguish two alternatives:

  • The one diversifying his bets. He always bets on the surprise, but in several sports games or wherever he thinks there's potential, which his picks almost always have. But the successes and failure of individual bets may still give him a lot of money.

The one who plays all his money on one option. This guy is most risky, but he's also gains more if all goes well. It's always better to bet on a sport that is won or lost; no ties. A result divided among three possibilities is always harder to hit, whereas one where there is only a 50% win or loss chance is better for this style.
